Four-side pouch sealing requires evidence appropriate to the equipment configuration and the complete package. OQ and PQ should preserve information about the sealing conditions and the package areas evaluated. A single favorable result cannot explain whether the proposed window and routine production conditions are adequately supported.
Plan the operating-window study
Identify the pouch construction, equipment setup and variables important to the sealing process. Define challenging conditions, specimen identification, test methods and acceptance criteria before execution. Where package geometry or different seal locations may affect performance, plan the evaluations to retain those distinctions.
Examine repeatability under production conditions
Define the runs, material identities and conditions relevant to routine production. Record actual settings, interventions and deviations. Assess whether observed variation affects the conclusion and explain the basis for approving the production configuration. Establish how later material, tooling or process changes will be assessed against the evidence.
