Validation Protocols
Select the protocol for your equipment and study stage
Match the protocol to the process being qualified. Tray sealers, bar sealers and four-sided pouch sealers have separate listings. Within each equipment family, choose Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification or the paired OQ/PQ bundle according to your study needs.
OQ addresses prerequisite checks and operating-window challenges. PQ addresses repeatable performance under defined production conditions. These editable protocols require completion with your equipment, materials, study methods, sampling rationale and acceptance criteria.
An accelerated aging study addresses packaging aging evidence. The orthopedic implant final-cleaning PQ protocol addresses a different process. Review actual previews and scope before selecting a protocol, and use the wider validation procedures for planning and report structure where needed.

Choose a protocol by equipment, configuration and study question
Use this hub when you need a focused study-document structure. Identify the process or product being assessed before selecting the protocol. OQ addresses the proposed operating conditions; PQ addresses repeatable performance under defined production conditions. Other protocols answer different questions.
Your decision | Starting point | What to check |
Tray sealing | Tray OQ, PQ or paired bundle | Define the actual tray/lid family and applicable methods. |
Bar sealing of pouches | Bar-sealer OQ, PQ or paired bundle | Retain setup, material and handling conditions. |
Four-side pouch sealing | Four-side OQ, PQ or paired bundle | Preserve relevant seal-location and construction differences. |
Packaging aging | Accelerated Aging Protocol | Assess the model, post-aging attributes and real-time work. |
Implant final cleaning | Final Cleaning PQ Protocol | Connect residue concerns, geometry, family rationale and methods. |
New product proposed for an existing EO process | EO Adoption Protocol | Assess product/process applicability rather than assume coverage. |
What to address first
Open the guide matching your equipment or claim, then compare the protocol’s scope with the proposed study. Check installation prerequisites and test-method suitability. Define what the study conclusion will cover before choosing runs and specimens.
Individual document, bundle or existing system?
The three sealing bundles each pair OQ and PQ documents for their own process. They do not provide laboratory testing or completed validation. Accelerated-aging evidence should not automatically be extended to every device shelf-life attribute. Adequate existing protocols may make another purchase unnecessary.
